Financial Security

Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.

At United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties (UWMOC), we help struggling households get on a path toward financial security. Together, with our community partners we connect them with resources to empower them to create a better, more sustainable future for themselves and their loved ones. United is the Way to create pathways to financial security for all.

Our current Financial Security initiatives include:

37% of households in Monmouth and Ocean counties struggle to afford the basic necessities. They are living paycheck to paycheck & struggling to make ends meet. They must make difficult choices every day with their limited income. Not having enough income to afford the basic necessities creates significant strain and stress on households, both financially and emotionally. Through the Basic Needs Initiative, households are able to extend their limited income and address other expenses - providing them with more opportunities for success. This project provides essential household and hygiene items to struggling families, youth and seniors through our community partnerships.

“Partnering with UWMOC has been instrumental in enabling us to provide essential hygiene items to those in need. These distributions not only help alleviate financial burdens but also empower families with the resources they need to maintain personal hygiene and wellness.”

“These donations have provided significant relief to families who often struggle to afford basic hygiene products. The hygiene bags provided immediate, tangible support, offering them a sense of dignity and care in a difficult time.”
