United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties is proud to support hands-on career education that prepares young people for real-world success. A recent story in the Asbury Park Press highlights how students in a Toms River technical education program stepped up when a burst pipe flooded their school cafeteria and immediately put their skills to work.
Through UWMOC’s Youth Career Pathways grant, students in the SPEAR-IT (Pre-Vocational Educational Alternatives Resource Institute) program gained real experience solving a plumbing issue at their school. Opportunities like this show how career training creates confidence, builds skills, and strengthens our local workforce.
